Professional Safety Solutions, LLC is seeking an experienced Safety Representative to support a large-scale solar farm construction project in Herkimer, NY. This position requires a motivated field safety professional who enjoys working outdoors, even in challenging weather conditions. The previous individual on site was not actively engaged in the field, so we’re looking for someone who leads by example and is committed to maintaining a strong safety presence on site.
Our Expectations
Health and Safety Professionals at ProSafe operate in a dual role: the first is consultative — providing expert safety guidance, coaching, and motivation to operations management and crews. The second is hands-on — partnering directly in the field to deliver effective safety initiatives and programs that foster a proactive, positive safety culture.
Responsibilities
Conduct daily field safety observations and jobsite inspections. Support field teams with hazard identification, mitigation, and job hazard analysis. Ensure compliance with OSHA and project-specific safety requirements. Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and new hire orientations. Maintain accurate safety documentation and communicate findings with project leadership. Be a visible, active safety leader in the field at all times.
Qualifications
Minimum OSHA 30 certification required (OSHA 510 or CHST preferred). Minimum 3 years of construction safety experience, preferably in renewable energy or utility-scale solar projects. Strong understanding of site safety protocols and environmental conditions. Must be comfortable working outdoors in cold weather. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Location: Herkimer, NY
Duration: 4 months
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM with some overtime
Pay Rate: $40–$50/hour
Scope: Utility-scale solar farm construction
