** Safety Specialist**
** Schedule:** Monday – Friday
** Position Overview**
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Specialist to lead workplace safety initiatives and ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. In this role, you will champion a strong safety culture, minimize workplace risks, and support continuous improvement in environmental health and safety practices.
** Key Responsibilities**
- Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and training programs
- Lead weekly Safety Toolbox meetings and employee safety trainings
- Investigate workplace incidents and perform root cause analysis
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements
- Prepare and maintain OSHA 300 logs, injury reports, and compliance documentation
- Monitor and enforce proper use of PPE
- Support emergency response planning and provide first aid when necessary
- Prepare safety reports and present findings to leadership
- Collaborate cross-functionally to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions
** Qualifications**
- Proven experience in an EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) role or similar position
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, workers’ compensation laws, and EPA regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to lead trainings and safety presentations confidently
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred; additional safety certifications are a plus
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
