  • Responsibilities

    Lead day-to-day safety across warehouses, plants, and construction sites while managing a light fleet program. Balance field coaching with practical paperwork and data. Operate from St. Louis with periodic 3–4 day assignments in Kansas City. Role is 70% field and 30% office with flexibility to complete documentation from home when not on site.

    Key Responsibilities – Safety Specialist & Fleet Manager - St. Louis

    • Perform site audits, risk assessments, JSAs, and corrective action follow-up.
    • Coach field teams on safe work practices for general industry and construction.
    • Plan and deliver toolbox talks and targeted micro-trainings.
    • Coordinate defensive driving training delivery; teach directly or manage vendor.
    • Investigate incidents, motor vehicle accidents, and near misses; track CAPAs.
    • Maintain OSHA logs, leading indicators, and metrics dashboards.
    • Manage fleet basics: insurance cards/ID, registrations, PM schedules, recalls, fuel and telematics data, and out-of-service returns.
    • Support subcontractor safety prequals and site-specific plans.
    • Assist with PPE, equipment inspections, and fit testing as applicable.
    • Partner with lab/field teams near the St. Louis office to align procedures.
    • Travel to KC office near the airport for multi-day support as needed.

    Qualifications – Safety Specialist & Fleet Manager \- St. Louis

    • 2+ years in safety across general industry and/or construction; recent grads with strong internships considered.
    • Working knowledge of OSHA 1910 and 1926; ability to interpret and apply.
    • Valid driver’s license and clean MVR suitable for company insurance.
    • Comfortable 70% in field environments; able to climb, walk, and stand on sites.
    • Strong documentation habits and basic Excel/Sheets proficiency.

    Preferred Qualifications – Safety Specialist & Fleet Manager \- St. Louis

    • Defensive driving instructor credential or experience coordinating vendors.
    • Fleet exposure: PM cycles, recall management, telematics, or insurance renewals.
    • QA/QC familiarity in field or lab settings.
    • Certifications: OSHA 30, CHST, GSP/ASP, First Aid/CPR/AED.
