    Job Description

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Compile Inventories upon request:
      • Fire Extinguishers
      • Confined Spaces
      • Spill Kit Locations
      • Flammable Storage & Hazardous Waste Accumulation Areas
    • Conduct & update Job Hazard Analysis & PPE Hazard Assessments
    • Conduct Noise Level Surveys
    • Conduct Periodic Environmental Audits
    • Conduct Annual EHS Trainings
    • Coordinate & Lead Safety Committee Meetings for Legacy & Marketplace locations
    • Data Collection & Entry
    • Hanging Banners, signs, updating boards etc. (scissor lift usage may be required)
    • Participate in departmental audits
    • Photo and Machine Information Collection & creation of Lockout Placard
    • Provide EHS Support & Guidance for Legacy & Marketplace locations
    • Provide support to Onsite Wellness personnel with Work Conditioning & Stretch ‘n Flex
    • All other duties assigned

    The Safety Technician will work in our Jesup facility and will be required travel to both Waterloo and Oelwein on a weekly basis for internal Safety audits.

    The Safety team works Monday -Thursday and a half day on Friday. Hours are typically 7:30am -4:30pm Monday -Thursday and 7:30am -12pm on Friday.

    Knowledge and Experience:

    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and support initiatives.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access).
    • Demonstrated ability for direct and specific communications with Supervisors, other members of Management and production associates.

    Qualifications:

    • Communication skills a must
    • Ability to perform multiple tasks
    • Proficient Computer knowledge preferred
    • Ability to use MPS tools for problem solving
    • Ability to communicate with internal suppliers/customers across campus
    • Ability to professionally communicate with external contractors
    • Strong organizational & inventory management skills required
    • Ability to work by yourself with minimal supervision
    • Quality Oriented
    • Must be willing to take initiative and be a self-starter
    • Flexible in day-to-day task management
    • Attendance / Reliability
    • Demonstrates strong commitment to safety
