We are actively seeking a Safety and Compliance Manager at Continental Drilling & Service, a Synergen Company located in Shreveport, Louisiana that would be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining company safety programs and regulatory compliance systems.
This role ensures adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including DOT requirements. The position combines administrative oversight with field-based safety support.
The Safety and Compliance Manager works closely with management and field personnel to identify risks, enforce policies, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Facilitate monthly safety meetings, new hire orientations, and required safety training courses
Attend customer contractor safety meetings and represent the company during customer safety assessments
Manage ISN and Veriforce compliance
Manage random drug & alcohol testing program
Establish and maintain DOT Driver Qualification files
Complete IRP, UCR, and IRS forms annually, as well as IFTA quarterly
Maintain compliance with FMCSA and audit records of CDL drivers to verify compliance
Maintain records and post as required for OSHA, TRIR, DART, etc.
Review and revise written safety programs as needed
Track driver scores and review safety events
Manage and support incident reporting, investigations, and RCA’s
Track, coach, and report out on JSA participation
Conduct CMV and job site safety inspections
Administer safety and compliance technology platforms
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
3+ years of experience in safety, compliance, or a related role in construction, transport, or oil and gas operations
Working knowledge of DOT regulations, including driver qualification files, hours-of-service, and vehicle compliance requirements
Strong organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and manage multiple compliance deadlines
Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to job sites and conduct field safety inspections
Strong communication skills
Experience administering safety and compliance technology platforms such as KPA and Samsara, preferred but not required
Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment can be moderate to high. Also includes occasionally working outdoors in elements/weather. Overnight travel will be minimal under normal operational conditions.
