DOT Compliance Manager
Job description
This position will work closely with leadership to continue building our technology driven safety culture. This is a hands-on position that will have daily impact on the company and our professional drivers.
Pay: Based on experience
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Develops, executes, and maintains effective driver safety training programs in compliance with OSHA, FMCSR and company policies including annual physicals, drug screening, annual reviews, and driver licenses to comply with all state, federal and local laws.
- Participates in regulatory audits.
- Ensures driver logs are completed and reviews logs for compliance with Federal DOT regulations.
- Train’s drivers in proper usage of ELD system
- Provides support for ELD problem resolution.
- Coaches, counsels, and delivers corrective action to drivers, as necessary.
- Investigates and tracks all accidents to meet both company and FMCSR requirements associated including post-accident drug/alcohol testing and post-accident re-training.
- Tracks costs and injuries associated with accidents.
- Completes safety and compliance reviews on new driver leases.
- Ensures proper training for new drivers.
- Builds and maintains Driver Qualification, Equipment and Maintenance files in appropriate systems.
- Coordinate special reports, projects and events related to the Safety/Loss Control Program
- Monitors quarterly safety incentive program.
- Monitoring CSA basic scores
- Manages IFTA reporting
- Maintains permits.
- Assists with Registration, Plates, Licensing and all other Equipment qualifications of Owner Operators and Company vehicles
- Work with the OTR dispatch and Local operations teams to ensure ALL drivers are safe, receive continued safety training, and maintain all driver and contractor qualifications.
REQUIREMENTS
- 2 years’ experience in DOT safety and compliance
- 2 years supervisory experience in a transportation environment
- 2 years’ experience managing driver safety programs.
- Has a technology driven approach to safety and compliance?
- Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, Drug & Alcohol Regulations (including Parts 40, 199, & 382), and other Regulatory Guidance
- Knowledge and understanding of Electronic Logging Device (ELD) rules and regulations.
- Strong problem resolution skills
