We have been exclusively retained by a well-established food manufacturing and distribution organization to help them bring on a consultant to support their Sage X3 environment. The company operates a highly integrated ERP environment that plays a critical role in day-to-day manufacturing, supply chain execution, and financial reporting.
The Sage X3 Support Contractor will serve as the primary functional and technical resource for their Sage X3 environment. This is a highly visible role where you will act as the go-to Sage X3 expert, supporting users, troubleshooting issues, managing configurations, and ensuring the system continues to scale with the business.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Sage X3 professional who enjoys owning an environment end to end, working closely with the business, and solving real operational problems in a manufacturing setting. The role is fully remote and supports users across multiple shifts and operating companies.
This position is a contract engagement, with duration to be determined based on business needs.
The Role You’ll Play
As the Sage X3 Support Contractor will serve as the primary functional and technical resource for their Sage X3 environment. This is a highly visible role where you will act as the go-to Sage X3 expert, supporting users, troubleshooting issues, managing configurations, and ensuring the system continues to scale with the business. You will work closely with business users, IT leadership, and third-party vendors to maintain system stability, resolve issues, and continuously improve the Sage X3 environment.
Provide day-to-day functional and technical support for Sage X3 v12 in a production environment
Troubleshoot issues across core Sage X3 modules including Sales, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Finance, and AP/AR
Configure Sage X3 to support evolving business requirements and process improvements
Support and troubleshoot integrated third-party applications connected to Sage X3
Act as the primary escalation point for Sage X3 related issues and questions
Support post-upgrade stabilization following the recent Sage X3 patch upgrade
Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into system solutions
Coordinate with vendors and implementation partners when advanced support or enhancements are required
Document configurations, processes, and recurring issues to improve support efficiency and system knowledge
Background Profile:
The ideal candidate is an experienced Sage X3 professional who is comfortable working independently and taking ownership of an ERP environment. You enjoy being hands-on, working directly with end users, and acting as a trusted technical and functional advisor to the business.
Required qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on experience supporting Sage X3 in a production environment
2+ years of experience supporting Sage X3 v12, including exposure to post-upgrade or patch-level stabilization
Strong functional expertise across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales, Purchasing, Finance, and AP/AR modules
Proven experience troubleshooting Sage X3 configurations, workflows, and user issues
3+ years of experience supporting on-prem ERP environments, preferably in a virtualized infrastructure
Working knowledge of SQL for troubleshooting, reporting support, and data validation in an on-prem Sage X3 environment
Demonstrated experience supporting Sage X3 integrations with third-party applications
Ability to diagnose issues that span ERP configuration, integrations, and business processes
Experience working directly with end users across multiple shifts in a manufacturing environment
Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate business problems into clear system solutions
Preferred qualifications:
Experience supporting Sage X3 in food manufacturing or process manufacturing environments
Hands-on experience with integrations such as:
Quality management systems, including Procession or similar platforms
EDI tools such as Mapadoc
BI and reporting tools, including Sage Enterprise Intelligence and Crystal Reports
AP automation platforms such as Rillion or comparable SaaS solutions
MES integrations, including early-stage or in-progress implementations such as Lynq MES
