    As RAN Test Engineer, you will occasionally be called upon to perform other duties not included in this job description. This candidate will need to have a sense of ownership and display enthusiasm in developing, improving, and expanding a growing repair lab.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The RAN Test Engineer position is a full-time, exempt position responsible for the development and engineering activities supporting 4G RAN repair operations in Rialto, CA. The candidate will develop test procedures, oversee the execution of these tests, provide testing status to management, debug software and hardware issues in a lab environment, and work with repair technicians to resolve issues found during testing. This position will report to the Engineering Manager in Coppell, TX.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provides technical assistance to the Repair Manager in the development of new repair projects and the improvement of current testing process.
    • Under immediate direction of the engineer manager, conducts end-to-end activities of new repair projects as related to product research, test plan development, testbed buildout and setup, and hands-on training.
    • Assists repair technicians in troubleshooting new failures discovered during testing. Collects test/repair data and performs failure mode analysis (FMA) to determine the root causes as required.
    • Creates, modifies, and finalizes acceptance testing documents/test datasheets.
    • Responsible for testbed/test equipment maintenance and document organization.
    • Works with Repair/Program Manager to manage and resolve escalated technical issues arising from operations, internal and external customers.
    • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Hands-on experience with Ericsson Radio System LTE components i.e. radio, baseband and AIR.
    • Familiarity with EMCLI tool for analyzing and troubleshooting HW-related faults associated with radio.
    • Experience and fluent with 3GPP standards (FDD, TDD, CDMA, HSPA, LTE).
    • Solid understanding of RF principles, wireless network infrastructure and data network protocols.
    • Experience using RF test equipment tools and LTE EPC emulator (Ixia 4G IxLoad, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator and Network Analyzer).
    • Able to think outside of the box and apply non-standard test techniques where normal procedures do not fulfill testing needs.
    • Must be disciplined to work independently and effectively in a team environment.
    • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to set priorities and complete tasks on time with minimal supervision.
    • Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience with wireless infrastructure provider and/or operator is desired.
    • Must have aptitude for learning new technologies and concepts.
    • Ability to be flexible with job duties and scope of work.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field
    • Minimum of five years' experience in communication technologies or related RF field
