    Position Summary: Saint Gobain Performance Plastics is currently seeking an intern to work with their Engineering and Supply Chain Team at the Taunton, MA site. May - August, Full Time, flexible dates

    Responsibilities:

    • Support and Supervise construction activities.
    • Manage and update Warehouse drawing throughout the project span.
    • Create process flow diagrams for material flow throughout the warehouse. Review and implement efficiency improvements.
    • Review and suggest efficiency improvements for material logistics. (Scheduling and transfer of materials from main facility to warehouse and vice versa)
    • Create Kanban system for non-inventory items (Ex. Product bags, corrugated, etc.)
    • Analyze manufacturing and shipping data to determine how to decrease packaging material inventory.
    • Create database to estimate shipping weights and dimensions.
    • Create organized area for outgoing and incoming shipments applying lean manufacturing principles.
    • Load new rack locations into MRP system (QAD).
    • Miscellaneous tasks to support warehouse transfer.

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • The position requires that the candidate be at least two years into an accredited Industrial\Operations Engineering, Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering program
    • Strong problem solving skills
    • Ability to work with large amount of data for statistical analysis
    • Familiarity with MRP systems will be added benefit
    • Ability to self-motivate and work productively both with and without supervision
    • Strong analytical, organization, and communication (written and verbal) skills
    • Strong Excel skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
