    BOYS GYMNASTICS TEAM - ASSISTANT COACH

    ROLE SUMMARY

    Gymnastics Team Coaches at Salem Gymnastics & Swim are responsible for conducting gymnastics workouts for athletes of different ages, abilities, and skill levels. The workouts with the USAG competitive boys team consist of pre-team members (Little Studs) as well as Compulsory Levels 3-6 and Optional Levels 7 and up. Team Coaches typically work with levels as determined by the Head Coach. Team Coaches report to the Head Coach.

    ROLE REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (included but not limited to) · Represent the mission and values of Salem Gymnastics & Swim.

    · The boys team assistant coach will primarily work with team and boys and possibly coach other classes on an as needed basis.

    · Work closely with team coaches and team head coach to ensure productive, effective and structured team workouts.

    · Organize and instruct individual athletes and small groups in gymnastics & equipment safety.

    · Utilize proper spotting techniques as necessary with athletes

    · Ensure that team workouts are focused on competitive season readiness and work on skills within routines that need improvement.

    · Smile and have fun during the entire shift. Ensure that every athlete gets the same enthusiasm.

    · Educate and enforce safety rules. Strive to prevent accidents and maintain discipline. · Act as a brand ambassador at all community events and competitive meets by by representing Salem Gymnastics & Swim in a positive and professional manner.

    · Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients, staff, and the public.

    · Perform cleaning tasks on both the gym floor and its surrounding areas as needed or assigned.

    · Attend meetings and training sessions as they are scheduled.

    · Perform additional duties as necessary given by the Team Head Coach, or company leadership.

    ROLE REQUIREMENTS

    · Gymnastics coaching, knowledge of the sport required

    · A passion for the sport of Gymnastics and working with children and youth.

    · Knowledge of safety rules and precautions

    · Professional demeanor and appearance

    · Positive and effective coaching

    · Use appropriate communication skills with team athletes and parents.

    · Able to handle a rigorous schedule including lifting, loading, moving equipment up to 40 lbs.

    · Must pass a background check and keep certifications current (USA Gymnastics, CPR)

    · Dependable motor vehicle transportation is a must
