    This is currently a year-round, part-time position with various shifts available during the week and on Saturdays. Pay is adjusted based on experience. All individuals 16 years of age and older, with reliable transportation welcome. This position can be a primary career or supplemental income.     ROLE SUMMARY

    Swim Instructors at Salem Gymnastics & Swim will be responsible for conducting swim lessons for multiple clients of different age and skill level. At times, Swim Instructors may be asked to perform ad hoc business-related duties as well. This role typically reports to the Deck Leader and Aquatics Director.

    ROLE REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (included but not limited to)

    Instruct individuals and small groups in swim skills and water safety.

    Ensure lesson objectives are achieved.

    Educate and enforce safety rules. Prevent accidents, maintain discipline.

    Administer first aid in the event of injury.

    Assist in maintaining a clean and safe pool environment.

    Represent the Philosophy of Salem Gymnastics & Swim.

    Attend meetings and training sessions as required.

    Perform additional duties as necessary and requested.

    Display excellent customer service.

    Smile and have fun during the entire shift.

    ROLE REQUIREMENTS

    Experience preferred but not required.

    Passion for the water, swimming and working with children.

    Professional demeanor and appearance.

    Ability to work in a positive way with a wide range of students with at different skill levels.

    Use appropriate communication skills in dealing with both children and adults.

    Perform the duties of an active work schedule including lifting, loading, and unloading, able to maneuver up to 40 lbs.

    Dependable motor vehicle transportation a must.

    Ability to work in and around swimming pools with exposure to chlorinated and chemically treated water.

    Possessing certifications in the following a plus (not required):

    Lifeguard Training

    First Aid

    CPR Certification for the Professional Rescuer
