    Job Description

    WHO WE ARE: We are a family owned small animal rehabilitation facility servicing dogs and cats. We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service and offering a positive and compassionate environment for our patients, clients, and staff. We have an enjoyable work environment with a small cohesive team willing to mentor the right person in a career in veterinary medicine.

     

    WHO YOU ARE: You have a passion for veterinary medicine, and a desire to constantly learn and expand your veterinary knowledge and skills. You have experience in customer service and are comfortable communicating with clients in a fast paced environment. You are tech-savvy and capable of working with computers and multiple phone lines. You are a team player with great communication skills and a strong work ethic. You have a friendly and outgoing personality, and are able to make good first impressions and be the welcoming face of the clinic. A desire to be around dogs and cats is a bonus!

    WHAT WE PROVIDE: This full time position offers a starting wage of $12-$13/hr with increased wages based on experience. The weekly work schedule is Tuesday thru Saturday. We are currently closed Sunday and Monday.

    VETERINARY FRONT OFFICE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Greet all clients with a positive greeting
    • Answer phone calls, which may involve answering questions, screening for service needs, and scheduling appointments.
    • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and e-mail.
    • Know the range of services the practice provides; advise clients & discuss services for their pets;
    • Document and maintain client information, service data and other pertinent information within business operations software.
    • Handle all cash, check, and credit card transactions

     

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Possess a good attitude and contribute to a positive work environment
    • Exhibit attention to detail
    • Ability to lift at least 40 lbs
    • Ability to type at least 40WPM
    • Ability to work Saturday shifts

    PREFERRED :

    • Animal care, client/customer interaction

    COVID-19 considerations:

    For the duration of COVID 19 risk we will be offering curbside service to clients. Most client interaction will be over the phone. In person interaction will be in the parking lot with clients and associates wearing masks and maintaining social distancing.

    1 year of experience in a receptionist position preferable
