We are a fast-paced and growing wholesale producer seeking a Sales Assistant to join our team. In this key role, you’ll provide essential support to our sales department, helping ensure smooth operations and exceptional service for our customers and partners.
What We Offer
Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned customer accounts, including order entry, adjustments, appointment scheduling, and credit memo processing
- Communicate effectively with sales staff to resolve account issues promptly
- Coordinate customer needs with warehouse and production teams
- Review shipping records for accuracy and address any discrepancies
- Maintain direct communication with customers to resolve complaints and ensure satisfaction
- Confirm orders accurately in internal and external systems; resolve errors as needed
- Participate in team planning meetings and assist with general office tasks (filing, copying, etc.)
- Monitor aging reports for accounts over 60 days and follow up with customers
- Review and process billbacks, deductions, and promotional credits
- Investigate short payments and collaborate with sales or customers to resolve
- Identify and help reduce persistent collection issues
- Collaborate with sales and senior management to expedite collections when necessary
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 6 months of relevant experience
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to learn and navigate internal and external order systems
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Accounts Receivable and Customer Service
- Familiarity with Produce Pro or other ERP systems
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for up to 8 hours/day
- Comfortable making and receiving phone calls
