🛒 Job Summary
As a Cashier at Wood Shed, you’ll be one of the first people customers see — and the last before they leave. That makes you a key part of creating a positive, memorable shopping experience. You’ll manage checkout operations, answer customer questions, and support store staff in a variety of ways.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
Greet customers with a warm, friendly welcome
Keep the front end clean, organized, and inviting
Operate the register, process transactions accurately (cash, card, house account, etc.)
Answer phones and direct calls to the appropriate departments
Be familiar with store layout and merchandise to assist customers effectively
Promote store loyalty programs and seasonal promotions
Stay alert to prevent theft or suspicious activity and follow store policy as needed
Assist with opening and closing till procedures
Keep displays around checkout stocked, clean, and visually appealing
Support team with other tasks and participate in staff meetings
Follow all store policies and safety standards

Strong customer service skills and a professional attitude
Team-oriented with a can-do spirit
Basic math and register skills
Willingness to learn store layout and product knowledge
Able to stay busy, multi-task, and follow through on assignments
Comfortable working flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Effective communicator with coworkers, customers, and leadership
Able to lift and move items as needed at the register
Familiarity with point-of-sale systems; basic computer skills a plus
