    Summary of Responsibilities

We’re looking for a warm, detail-oriented Designer with strong people skills to join our team as a Sales & Design Consultant. In this role, you’ll be one of the first points of contact for new clients—helping them feel heard, inspired, and confident as they begin their remodeling journey. You’ll guide the design process from initial consultation through selections and proposal presentations, collaborating closely with our team to deliver thoughtful, high-quality results. From developing layouts and curating finishes to attending walkthroughs and maintaining relationships after the project wraps, you’ll play a key role in shaping not just beautiful spaces, but exceptional client experiences. This position blends interior design, relationship-building, and sales—ideal for someone who thrives in a team-oriented, high-touch, design-build environment.

    Essential Functions

    • Client Discovery & Engagement: Take a leading role in early client engagement by participating in in-home consultations. Uncover each client’s goals, style, vision, and budget to build trust from the start.
    • Design Development & Selections:Guide clients through the design process with thoughtful space planning, plan development, curated material selections, mood boards, and showroom visits—creating personalized, cohesive design solutions.
    • Presentation, Proposal & Sales:Confidently present design concepts and detailed project proposals. Help clients make informed decisions and support the sales process with care and clarity, from initial meeting to signed agreement.
    • Project Continuity, Support & Client Experience: Maintain ongoing communication during construction. Attend preconstruction meetings, in-progress walkthroughs, and key milestones to ensure the design intent is executed and the client experience is smooth.
    • Collaboration & Handoff: Coordinate closely with internal team members—including estimating, production, and drafting—to ensure feasibility, accuracy, and a clean handoff of design details and client expectations.
    • Close-Out & Relationship Building: Lead final walkthrough meetings, review feedback, and present close-out and warranty information. Follow up at regular intervals after project completion to maintain long-term client relationships.
    • Community Engagement & Representation: Represent the company at networking events, industry functions, and community activities to strengthen referral networks and promote brand presence as needed.

    Education, Experience, and Skills Required

    • Minimum 3 years of experience in interior design, remodeling, or a client-facing sales role within the design-build industry.
    • Degree or certification in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field (preferred).
    • Membership in professional design associations such as NKBA is a plus.
    • Strong space planning and material selection abilities.
    • Proficiency with basic design tools (e.g., Canva, SketchUp); CAD knowledge is a plus but not required.
    • Familiarity with tools such as HubSpot, Build Book, Outlook, and MS Teams.
    • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills, with the confidence to lead client meetings, present ideas clearly, and guide decision-making with empathy and professionalism.
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple clients, appointments, and deliverables in a dynamic environment with many moving parts.

    Compensation

    • $70,000–$75,000 base salary, plus commission (total compensation range: $80,000–$90,000 per year)
