    About PEAR

Partnerships in Education and Resilience (PEAR) is a leader in educational innovation combining decades of research with a proven distribution platform. The company was spun out of McLean Hospital, Harvard Medical School in 2020 and connects educational innovation, youth development, and child and adolescent mental health — bridging research and practice so that young people learn, dream, and thrive.

At PEAR we understand that true engagement includes a focus on relevance toward students' lives and methods that increase voice, curiosity, leadership, and skill acquisition. Building on our decades of research and translational work, PEAR creates and fosters evidence-based innovations in social-emotional development (SED) and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) in educational settings. We provide trainings and assessment tools that inform educators about program quality, youth social-emotional development, and academic engagement.

Everyone at PEAR shares a passion for improving the lives of children by increasing their opportunities for success, both in and out of school.

    About the Role

PEAR is seeking a highly motivated, early-career Sales Development Representative to help drive our growth by identifying new opportunities, building relationships, and supporting outreach and sales strategy from the ground up. This role is best suited for someone with 1–2 years of experience in sales, outreach, or client engagement — who is ready to hustle, do research, initiate contact, and contribute to mission-driven work.

The Sales Development Representative will report to PEAR's Senior Manager of Client Relations and Communications. You'll collaborate closely with internal teams and help expand PEAR's reach with new and returning clients, including school districts, youth-serving nonprofits, and thought leaders in the education space.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    Lead Generation & Outreach

    • Research and develop prospect lists across school districts, youth-serving organizations, funders, and education networks.

    • Execute outreach campaigns via phone and email to initiate contact and gauge interest.

    • Follow up with individuals who engage with PEAR through webinars, email campaigns, and events.

    Sales & Business Development Support

    • Support PEAR's founder, communications team, and sales leaders in outreach follow-up, scheduling, and preparation.
    • Draft and support creation of scopes of work, proposals, and other sales materials.
    • Help maintain tracking systems and document activities in PEAR's CRM or related tools.

    Conference & Event Engagement

    • Represent PEAR at select conferences (virtual or in-person) to share our work, engage potential leads, and expand visibility.

    Marketing Collaboration

    • Work closely with the Senior Manager of Client Relations and Communications to align outreach and sales with digital campaigns.
    • Track and follow up on interest generated through marketing efforts (e.g., event registrations, email clicks, content engagement).

    What We're Looking For

    Qualifications

    • 1–2 years of experience in sales, outreach, business development, or client engagement roles. Experience in education, youth development, or nonprofits is a plus.
    • Excellent research and organizational skills.
    • Clear, confident written and verbal communication.
    • Comfort reaching out cold and starting new conversations.
    • Self-directed and proactive — able to manage tasks and follow through independently.

    Preferred Attributes

    • Strategic thinker with curiosity and a problem-solving mindset.
    • Eager to contribute to an evolving sales process in a small, growing organization.
    • Passion for supporting youth and educators through innovative, equity-driven work.
    • Collaborative and flexible — able to work across functions and teams.

All employees must possess basic computer skills to use a variety of electronic or online systems for communication and administrative purposes.

    Compensation

    • Salary: $45,000-$55,000, with opportunity for incentive-based earnings tied to performance
