POSITION TITLE: Sales Engineer

SUMMARY: Perform highly detailed technical and commercial review of firm quote opportunities to develop accurate, high-volume firm fixed-price quotations for company products.
DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define Technical Execution Strategy – Review RFQ documents, ISR notes, specifications, drawings, schedules, customer constraints, supplier considerations, and execution requirements to determine complexity, required calculations, material sourcing needs, schedule feasibility, internal coordination requirements, and quote posture.
- Own Technical Quote Development & Core Engineering Principles – Develop accurate, supportable technical quotations by applying core engineering principles, estimating discipline, and execution knowledge to determine the technical basis of the quote.
- Perform calculations, define major material requirements, evaluate fabrication, testing, and schedule impacts, create take-off sheets and quote letters. The SE must show their work clearly, so the calculation logic, assumptions, intended approach and execution basis are communicated to the team downstream.
- Protect Margin & Reduce Risk – Determine vendor pricing strategy, secure major material and subcontract pricing, document assumptions, surface technical/commercial risks early, and align internally with Engineering, Procurement, Production, Quality, and Management as required.
- Drive Firm Quote Accuracy & Throughput – Prioritize firm quote output, maintain pace, and balance technical rigor with decisiveness.
- Support Review, Clarity & Handoff – Self-review quotes, use labor factors and comparable projects, support management/peer reviews, finalize technical/commercial content before submission, and prepare complete handoff information and “keys to success” for won work.
- All assumptions, logic, pricing support, schedule logic, and special execution requirements must be documented so reviewers and downstream teams can understand how the quote was built and how the work is intended to be executed
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a technical, engineering, fabrication, or industrial manufacturing environment

- Ability to manage multiple firm RFQs and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
