    Job Summary

    This role is a balance of account management and new business development within the Midwest sales and service team. The position involves servicing an established customer base while proactively hunting for new opportunities in a consultative, technical sales environment with long sales cycles.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage and grow an established base of accounts, focusing on relationship-building and repeat business.
    • Prospect and develop new business through cold calling, in-person visits, and targeted hunting (roughly 50/50 split between existing accounts and new client development).
    • Conduct consultative sales of high-value machine tools and related capital equipment to OEMs and job/machine shops.
    • Travel throughout the territory to meet with customers, demonstrate products, and close sales.
    • Collaborate with the technical service team to support customer needs.
    • Maintain accurate records and pipeline management in the CRM system.

    Requirements

    • 3-5 years of proven sales experience in the manufacturing industry, ideally selling capital equipment or related technical products
    • Experience selling into manufacturing environments, specifically to OEMs and job/machine shops that machine parts.
    • Strong hunter mentality with comfort in proactive prospecting, cold calling, and in-person customer visits.
    • Mechanically inclined with the ability to understand technical products and navigate long sales cycles.
    • Self-motivated and able to work independently while managing a geographic territory.
    • Willingness and ability to travel (primarily driving, with some flying for trade shows/training).

    Preferred Requirements

    • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM.
    • Background in technical or service roles within manufacturing

    Compensation/Benefits

    • Base Salary: $60,000 – $70,000
    • Commission: 10-12% of adjusted gross profit
    • First-Year Support: Draw available if needed
    • On-Target Earnings (OTE): $130,000–$150,000 in year one; top performers can exceed $200,000+.

    Location

    • Based in the Minneapolis metro area
    • Territory primarily covers Minnesota (with emphasis on the southwest), plus portions of the Dakotas and western Wisconsin.
    • 90-95% of activity is within Minnesota.
    • Hybrid travel model: ~1.5 days per week in the office, remainder on the road (primarily driving).
