In this role, you will play a key part in delivering exceptional service to customers, assisting them in selecting the right lumber, building materials, and related products for their projects. Your expertise will help guide contractors, homeowners, and DIY enthusiasts in making informed purchasing decisions. Additionally, you will ensure the sales floor remains well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing to create a seamless shopping experience. This role requires a strong understanding of construction materials, a commitment to safety standards, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Assistance: Greet customers, assess their needs, and provide expert guidance on lumber, hardware, and building materials.

Product Knowledge: Maintain a strong understanding of construction materials and tools to assist customers effectively.

Sales Support: Recommend products based on customer needs, upsell complementary items, and process transactions efficiently.

Inventory Management: Ensure shelves are stocked, products are properly labeled, and inventory is maintained.

Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols when handling materials and operating equipment.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming retail environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Experience: Prior retail or sales experience in lumber/building materials preferred.

Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage customers professionally.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and operate equipment safely.

Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with construction materials, tools, and their applications.

Problem-Solving: Ability to assist customers with project-related questions and provide solutions.
