    The Opportunity

    Our client is seeking a Sales Manager to lead business development across North America. This individual will serve as a key commercial representative in the region and play a central role in expanding relationships with premium pet food manufacturers.

    The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with practical execution. They will identify new opportunities, strengthen relationships with existing customers, and help bring new ingredient solutions to market. This role requires a commercial professional who understands how to sell value and who can translate customer needs into actionable opportunities inside the organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    Business Development

    • Identify and pursue new customers across the North American pet food market
    • Expand market presence with both emerging brands and established manufacturers
    • Position ingredient solutions within customer formulations and product pipelines

    Customer Relationships

    • Build long-term partnerships with key accounts
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers on ingredient solutions and supply strategies
    • Maintain strong engagement with existing customers to identify growth opportunities

    Strategic Sales Planning

    • Develop and execute an annual sales plan aligned with company objectives
    • Identify market trends and new product opportunities within the pet food industry
    • Support the launch of new ingredient solutions in collaboration with internal teams

    Internal Collaboration

    • Translate customer requirements into actionable insights for sourcing, innovation, and marketing teams
    • Work closely with internal experts across the global organization to deliver solutions for customers
    • Ensure strong alignment between commercial strategy and operational execution

    Candidate Profile

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree required

    Experience

    • 5 to 8 years of relevant commercial experience
    • Background in specialty ingredients, pet food, animal nutrition, or related markets preferred
    • Experience with pricing strategy and revenue models

    Industry Knowledge

    • Understanding of ingredient value propositions and solution selling
    • Familiarity with the pet food industry or adjacent ingredient markets

    Travel

    • Willingness to travel approximately 30 to 35 percent
