Sales Manager
Job Description: We are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and results-driven Sales Manager to oversee cemetery sales operations, lead a small team, and ensure outstanding service to the families we serve. This supervisory role includes managing the sales process, coaching team members, and supervising grounds crew and office staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead sales of cemetery plots, merchandise, and services (pre-need and at-need)
Meet and exceed monthly and annual sales goals and bonus targets
Educate families on the value of pre-planning cemetery arrangements to ensure informed decision making
Manage the complete sales cycle, from prospecting to closing, while maintaining accurate sales records
Ensure pricing integrity ad adherence to all company policies and regulatory guidelines.
Supervise and mentor team members
Provide compassionate customer support to families
Manage budgets, scheduling, and overtime approvals
Ensure compliance with policies and regulatory guidelines
Build and maintain long-term relationships with families, funeral homes, and community organizations.
Address customer concerns or complaints in a professional and compassionate manner.
Monitor and manage operational expenses of your location
Maintain accurate sales records, contracts, and customer agreements in compliance with company policies; retain client information in confidence and preserve privacy of sensitive client financial account information
Regularly assess sales trends and develop strategies to enhance revenue and operational efficiency
Required Skills & Experience:
Sales experience in a quota-based environment
Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
Excellent customer service and emotional intelligence skills
Excellent communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, and time management skills
Ability to work with grieving families in a compassionate, empathetic, and professional manner
Proficiency with: email, texting, CRM tools, cloud storage, contracts, and sales reporting is a must
Proficiency with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office programs is a must.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred (Not Required):
Experience in cemetery, funeral, or pre-need sales
Experience managing a sales team
Experience in operations management (Cemetery of funeral operations a plus)
