Our client, an international Nutraceutical Ingredient company, is hiring a Sales Manager to be responsible for growing B2B revenue across the western US and Canada by winning new customers and expanding existing accounts. The position manages the complete commercial cycle, from prospecting and solution development through contract closure, account development, and ongoing customer support.
The role will create and execute territory strategies across the company’s complete product range of Clinically Backed, Branded Ingredients with responsibility for achieving sales objectives, strengthening customer partnerships, and uncovering new commercial opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Territory & Business Development
- Build and implement territory sales strategies in collaboration with the Sales Director.
- Assess market potential across relevant health and product segments and map key prospective customers.
- Identify customer challenges and position the company’s ingredient solutions to address those needs.
- Prospect actively for new B2B opportunities and develop a strong pipeline of potential customers.
- Take ownership of the assigned territory and consistently work toward meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Seek face-to-face customer engagement wherever practical.
- Monitor industry developments, emerging customer requirements, and market trends, providing actionable insights to Product Management, Innovation, and other internal stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for new products, applications, or commercial growth based on market feedback.
- Partner with Product Management, Communications & Promotions, Innovation, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams to develop and deliver customer solutions.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete CRM records so customer and pipeline information can be effectively used across the organization.
Customer Management
- Develop long-term relationships with customers by demonstrating strong knowledge of the company’s products and their applications.
- Engage customers through a combination of virtual meetings, digital presentations, sales tools, CRM activity, and regular in-person meetings.
- Represent the company at relevant conferences, exhibitions, trade shows, and industry events, with a focus on generating and following up on qualified opportunities.
- Provide strong post-sale account management in partnership with Customer Service.
- Collaborate with customers, Customer Service, and Supply Chain to develop reliable sales forecasts, support supply planning, and improve customer satisfaction.
- Use approved commercial resources—including presentations, brochures, technical information, and product materials—to ensure customers receive clear and relevant product information.
Qualifications & Experience
- At least 5 years of professional sales experience.
- 3+ years experience selling science-based Branded ingredients to the dietary supplement market is strongly preferred; experience with contract manufacturing or private-label solutions would also be relevant.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as science, food technology, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to manage the complete sales process, including territory planning, prospect development, opportunity management, negotiation, closing, and delivery against revenue targets.
Compensation: $120,000 - $145,000 Base Salary, plus bonus and benefits
