The Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by prospecting, qualifying, and booking group, contract, and volume accounts for the hotel. This is an active, outward-facing role that requires a self-motivated professional comfortable with cold outreach, client relationship management, site tours, and collaborative selling alongside the General Manager and property team. The Sales Manager serves as a key ambassador for the hotel in the local market and community, representing the Sonesta brand with professionalism and enthusiasm in every client interaction. Responsibilities: • Prospect, qualify, solicit, and book group, contract, and volume accounts to meet and exceed personal sales goals • Conduct hotel site inspection tours with prospective clients and respond promptly to CVB leads and inbound inquiries • Maintain accurate, up-to-date account files for all active and prospective group, contract, and volume clients • Participate in joint sales calls with the General Manager, sales blitzes, telemarketing campaigns, and industry trade shows • Coordinate group event logistics, including rooming lists, advance deposits, pre- and post-group meetings, and cross-departmental communication • Track and report sales activity results to management, and maintain current competitive intelligence on key accounts and rival properties • Represent the hotel in community, civic, and professional organizations to build visibility and develop business relationships Qualifications: • Two-year college degree or equivalent; direct hotel sales or telemarketing experience strongly preferred • Proven ability to prospect, negotiate, and close accounts across group, corporate, and volume segments • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong presentation abilities and a polished, professional demeanor • Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines simultaneously • Proficiency with MS Office, hotel PMS/CRM systems, and standard office technology; typing proficiency of at least 40 wpm • Working knowledge of OSHA, ADA, and equal employment regulations as they apply to hotel operations • Valid driver's license with a clean record; ability to travel overnight up to one week at a time Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 yearly
