Regional Sales Representative - Chemical Manufacturing
We're recruiting for an Outside Sales Representative, to cover downtown Chicago and near north territory for our Client. Your responsibility is to promote and sell products and the services offered throughout an assigned region.
Our client is Chicagoland's aquatic chemical specialist and serves the pool and spa industry for over 30 years. Our clients Our depth of knowledge – from chemicals, equipment, and parts, to installations, training, or project consulting – enables us to provide our customers with a full range of services.
Summary
The successful candidate will have the ability and willingness to go to the on-site facility of a client to perform various types of meetings, or make a delivery when requested. You are our customers’ front-line contact between the company and all the products and services we provide. Provide technical support, product specifications, and other information pertinent to many of the products, equipment, and services we offer.
Responsibilities and Duties
You must be able to identify sales leads, collect information from leads and prospective clients, educate clients about our products, when requested provide product demonstrations or conduct a presentation, and close sales deals. The regional sales representative will contact each customer in his or her assigned region a minimum of three times a year. This is an existing territory.
•Cultivate relationships with potential and existing clients
•Developing and maintaining a sales action plan
•Various types of appointments with a prospect or customer
•Recording and processing various appointments by using Sage CRM and Microsoft Outlook
•Willingness and ability to understand industry chemicals, products and standards, and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in person, on the phone, electronically, or through other means to individuals and groups.
•Demonstrated ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels of an organization.
•Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
•Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
•Competent on Microsoft Office Suite, willingness and able to learn Sage CRM (Company customer service management database).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The Regional Sales Representative is an outside salesperson required to go on several site visits in a day or week throughout the year. You will be exposed to the elements of weather, must be able to get in and out of your vehicle, walk for an extended period of time (explanation to follow)while having with you the sales materials, test kit, brochures, and possibly other items or objects that could weigh up to 10lbs. When arriving at a site, you may need to park your car anywhere from 10 ft. to one block away from the entry point, and then may need to walk from one side of the building to the other, or into a basement to view the pool or equipment room.
•Utilize visual acuity to assess our surroundings, view equipment, read technical information, and/or use a touchpad or keyboard.
•Required to lift/push/carry items up to sixty pounds, one product we do carry is the Chlorinating tablets, a pails weights 60lb., on occasion, you may need to deliver the product. This is to a dock or doorstep.
•You must take caution, be aware, and understand the environment you are entering. You may need to walk down and up a flight of stairs, step over objects, you may be entering a mechanical pump room that has operating equipment, mechanical parts, and swimming pool chemicals, and utilize industry-standard safety precautions.
