The Ideal Candidate for this position has an established book of hospice business in San Diego County and/or Southwest Inland Empire, or a minimum of 1 year of sales experience. Self-starter preferred.
The candidate must be comfortable contacting Physicians, Hospitals, Nursing Facilities, Assisted Living Facilities, Board and Care Facilities, Faith-based Organizations, and other potential referral sources to develop business relationships.
Must be proficient in hospice knowledge and able to thoroughly explain the benefits to patients and families. This can be taught through orientation and training.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrates excellent verbal, written, and technical skills.
Responsible for census development through the implementation of external and internal sales & marketing programs with both existing and new accounts.
Takes the initiative to creatively generate new untapped sources of business while following applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Develop and implement sales/marketing plan for all company products/service offerings, consistent with market analysis, reflecting referral source targets.
Ability to effectively utilize both local and company resources in the execution of job responsibilities.
Maintains up-to-date information as needed, specifically assigned competitors, including census, product information, and marketing strategies.
Report progress versus goals and census development barriers to the Administrator.
Contact key physicians and other health care representatives regularly.
Perform sales calls with Account Executives on a routine basis.
Increase market share through networking and community education.
Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to promote quality hospice services.
Participates in the Performance Improvement process, especially the Annual Program Evaluation as regards strategic planning and Annual Business Plan.
Maintains confidentiality of agency, employee, and patient matters.
Other job duties as assigned.
