Position Overview
Massachusetts agency is seeking an experienced Salesforce Solution Architect to lead architecture, design governance, and technical oversight for the eLIPSE Licensing, Permitting, and Inspection Project.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Salesforce architecture, enterprise integration, data architecture, and Public Sector Solutions. This role will serve as the architectural authority, partnering with business stakeholders, development teams, and vendors to design scalable, secure, and maintainable Salesforce solutions aligned with enterprise standards and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Business Alignment & Solution Design
Partner with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable Salesforce solutions.
Evaluate solution alternatives and present architecture recommendations and trade-offs.
Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, compliance, and governance standards.
Guide solution design leveraging Salesforce Public Sector Solutions (PSS) capabilities.
Collaborate with vendor partners to optimize licensing, permitting, and inspection workflows.
Enterprise Solution Architecture
Lead end-to-end architecture across Salesforce, MuleSoft, and integrated enterprise systems.
Review and refine solution architecture, integration designs, and technical specifications.
Ensure consistency across workstreams and eliminate siloed design approaches.
Define architecture patterns supporting scalability, performance, reliability, flexibility, and security.
Provide architectural oversight throughout design, development, testing, deployment, and support phases.
Evaluate Salesforce roadmap features and advise leadership on platform adoption opportunities.
Integration & Data Architecture
Architect integrations between Salesforce and enterprise applications.
Guide API strategy utilizing:
REST APIs
SOAP APIs
Bulk APIs
Define data models, master data management strategies, and synchronization approaches.
Ensure data quality, consistency, governance, and security across systems.
Collaborate with MuleSoft and integration teams on enterprise integration architecture.
Technical Leadership & Governance
Provide leadership and mentorship to Salesforce development teams.
Review solution designs, configurations, customizations, and technical deliverables.
Conduct architecture reviews and code reviews.
Establish and enforce development standards and best practices.
Govern application lifecycle processes including:
Design
Development
Testing
Change Control
UAT
Deployment
Production Support
Ensure compliance with EOTSS architectural and security standards.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Collaborate with business, technical, and vendor teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
Assess current implementation architecture and identify improvement opportunities.
Evaluate risks, performance concerns, technical debt, and optimization opportunities.
Stay current with Salesforce releases, features, and industry best practices.
Support Agile delivery and DevOps modernization initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
10+ years of Salesforce platform experience.
5+ years serving as a Salesforce Solution Architect or Technical Architect.
Experience designing large-scale enterprise Salesforce solutions.
