Job Description
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
The role offers a mix of strategic, operational and financial work and the opportunity to collaborate with a wide array of stakeholders to own decision making and execution.
The Business Development Manager will report to the CEO. S/he will provide financial and analytical support while collaborating with a wide array of stakeholders to drive success for the organization. This role will be responsible for (1) forecast planning and execution, including reporting and variance analysis; (2) identification of business trends, including risks and opportunities; and (3) ad hoc analysis to maximize the value of each brand.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
P&L review, financial reporting, tax related issues, business optimization
Operating Plan and management
Provide financial planning, analysis and decision support, as well as budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and risk assessments
Key member of cross-functional team which serves as the finance advisory council to the CEO to assist in making strategic decisions to drive business performance
Lead assessment of brand economics / business cases for investments and make financial recommendations based on financial hurdles across multiple financial measures
Business research for future opportunities and optimization
Implement new procedures and train employees
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will possess the following key skills and competencies:
Distinctive quantitative, critical thinking and modeling skills
Very strong Excel skills and project management applications
Strong combination of financial, analytical and strategic skills
Strong oral and written communications and the ability to build productive working relationships with various levels, functions and teams
Ability to navigate and come up with solutions that are cost conscious and straight forward
Extremely high attention to detail, yet proven ability to maintain a macro view of the business
Independent, out-of-the-box thinker with conviction of thought
High sense of urgency with the ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
Personal drive and passion to understand the business
EDUCATION:
The ideal candidate would have a Bachelor's degree and an MBA in any or a combination of the following fields: Accounting, Finance, Engineering
Experience with QuickBooks preferred
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The interview format will consist of a panel interview followed by a paid 30 day on the job evaluation where the applicant will have the opportunity to demonstrate related skills and adaptability.
The applicant will present some of his/her accomplished projects with the panel, showcasing the talent the applicant may bring to this company
The applicant will provide college transcripts
This is a position expected to grow towards the Chief Operating Officer role
