    Job description:

    Job Summary We are seeking a super energetic and experienced Salon Manager to lead our team and ensure the smooth operation of our salon. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional customer service abilities, and a passion for the beauty industry. As a Salon Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and driving sales while maintaining a welcoming environment for both clients and employees. This position includes occasional styling support—especially during peak hours or staff shortages. You’ll also be actively involved in performance management, regular meetings with ownership and corporate, and 1:1 staff development conversations.

    Duties

    Sales and Management

    Oversee daily salon operations, ensuring high standards of service and cleanliness.

    Manage staff recruitment, training, and development to foster a skilled and motivated team.

    Implement effective employee orientation programs to ensure seamless onboarding.

    Conduct interviews and assist in the hiring process to build a talented workforce.

    Supervise staff performance, providing feedback and support to enhance productivity.

    Manage staff schedules and weekly hours.

    Maintain inventory control by managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and conducting regular audits.

    Utilize POS systems for transactions while ensuring efficient cashiering processes.

    Develop marketing strategies to promote salon services and increase customer engagement.

    Manage budgets effectively while monitoring retail sales performance and implementing pricing strategies.

    Foster a positive customer service culture by addressing client concerns promptly and professionally.

    Collaborate with team members to create an inviting atmosphere that encourages repeat business.

    Client Experience & Styling Support

    Step in as a stylist when needed to maintain service flow and client satisfaction

    Mentor team members on service delivery and consultation best practices

    Oversee the entire client experience from welcome to checkout

    Address and resolve client concerns with professionalism and empathy

    Sales & Membership Growth

    Drive service and retail sales by setting and tracking daily/weekly goals

    Promote the salon’s membership program and ensure accurate management

    Monitor KPIs (e.g., average ticket, rebooking rate, client retention) and implement strategies for improvement

    Operations, Inventory & Admin

    Manage salon cleanliness, organization, and product presentation

    Track and control inventory; place supply orders within budget

    Handle cash management and reconciliation at open/close

    Maintain secure, updated records for staff and clients

    Prepare and share performance reports with ownership

    Marketing & Outreach

    Support social media and local marketing efforts

    Lead in-store promotions and client events

    Represent Moxie in the community through partnerships and outreach

    Requirements

    Licensed Cosmetologist (Required)

    3–4+ years of experience in a salon or beauty management role

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills—confident on the floor and in 1:1s

    Positive, outgoing, and team-oriented personality

    Sales-driven mindset with proven ability to coach and lead teams

    Familiar with POS systems, digital tools (Google Workspace), and salon scheduling software

    Available for evening, weekend, and flexible hours, including attendance at internal meetings and off-hour staff needs

    Able to balance management responsibilities with occasional hands-on styling

    Proficiency in inventory management, retail sales, and merchandising techniques.

    Experience in training & development of staff members to enhance their skills.

    Familiarity with cash handling procedures and financial management practices.

    Ability to multitask effectively while demonstrating strong organizational skills.

    Experience with time management to ensure efficient salon operations during peak hours.

    A background in sales management or marketing is advantageous.
