    About Us:

    We are an off-premises catering, food service and special events company specializing in Traditional Criollo cuisines. While Latino food is our specialty, Salsa also offers diverse menus for most cultural affairs.

    About the Role:

    The Executive Chef will work as part of our leadership team to provide strategic and innovative culinary governance across all lines of business. The ideal candidate will have a high culinary acumen and the ability to exercise good judgment.

    Objective of this Role:

    ● Develop a culinary plan with short and long-term goals that ensure high levels of guest satisfaction

    ● Enhance food quality levels by establishing standards while collaborating on diverse menus to satisfy specific regional preferences

    ● Address quality and culinary service gaps to develop continuous improvement for execution across the entire organization

    ● Research, test and introduce new and improved products to enhance the overall food service experience

    ● Establish menus and products that are in line with food cost projections, operational feasibility, quality standards and guest satisfaction

    ● Develop, revise, measure and maintain culinary service standard operating procedures throughout our business lines

    ● Cultivate and maintain effective partnerships with management to execute culinary strategic plans

    ● Liaise with supply chain management to identify key potential supplier relationships

    ● Uphold and promote the organization’s values, philosophy, ethics, morality, integrity and code of conduct

    Role Qualifications:

    Required

    ● 5+ years of experience as Sous Chef or Culinary Leader

    ● Advance proficiency in high volume catering or quantity food production

    ● ServSafe Certification & NYC Food Protection Certification

    ● Bilingual: Spanish & English

    ● Proficiency in food costing, menu planning, inventory management and procurement

    ● Flexible hours as dictated by the needs of business

    Preferred

    ● Bachelor’s degree

    ● Culinary knowledge and principles in: Puerto Rican, Caribbean & Latin American cuisines

    ● Computer proficiency with Google Docs
