About the Role: The Sous Chef will work as part of our Culinary Team to provide leadership and culinary governance throughout our kitchen. The ideal candidate will have strong culinary acumen and the ability to use good judgment.
Objective of the Role:
Manage the daily Culinary operations under the Executive Chef’s leadership
Adhere to program menus
Supervise food: handling, preparation and storage
Procurement and inventory management of all items needed for production
Support Executive Chef with labor and food cost management
Role Qualifications:
Required
Associate degree or related field with a minimum of three (3) years of experience managing a food service operation
ServSafe Manager Certification
NYC Food Handler Certification
Bilingual: Spanish & English
Weekends
Ability to use a computer and the necessary software to order food and manage labor
Preferred
Experience in institutional cooking or catering
Culinary knowledge and principles in Puerto Rican, Caribbean, and/or Latin American cuisines
Valid Drivers license
