    Job Description

    The IT Network Engineer II approaches their tasks and assigned duties in a team-based care fashion that supports Salud employees while adhering to the spirit of the Salud mission statement.

    The IT Network Engineer II provides direct support to Salud employees via communication tools such as Teams, Email, Phone, or Salud’s Ticketing System; and by going onsite to all Salud locations (as needed) to resolve routine networking-related issues. Responsible for evaluating, designing, implementing, and maintaining the data networks and technologies that comprise Salud Family Health’s network infrastructure including (but not limited to) LAN/WAN interfaces, network switches, network security, and performance, and all hardware components of an enterprise network infrastructure.

    We offer:

    • The starting pay range is $36.41 to $41.87 per hour
    • Monday to Friday – 8 am to 5 pm (with after-hours/overtime work as needed)

    Specific Duties:

    • Documents all practices and procedures
    • Identifies and report security violations
    • Monitors public security notifications, determine those that apply to Salud, and help develop an appropriate response plan
    • Configures, implements, and maintains routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points
    • Designs networks and upgrades including LANs, WANs, WLANs, VLANs, SDWAN, Cloud, and Internet connections
    • Partners with vendors, clients, carriers, and technical staff on network implementation, optimization, and ongoing management
    • Configuration and use of software to monitor network
    • Authentication systems including multi-factor, cloud, and on-premises solutions
    • Secures Certificate (PKI) system management
    • Works with IT Leadership and other departments on associated projects that must be completed to maintain the Salud network at a level that is secure and reliable, and enables Salud to provide good service to patients, providers, and staff.
    • Works in conjunction with Medical Providers, Medical Assistants, Enrollment Specialists, Customer Service Associate, and all other staff to ensure that patients obtain the highest standard of integrated health care
    • Acts as a patient advocate for our vulnerable populations by ensuring that patients are fully informed and comfortable with their visit to Salud
    • Follows procedures for the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system
    • Works with other teams and Salud staff as needed to perform duties and maintain healthy relationships
    • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Decision Making:

    Examples of decisions encountered by an individual in this position would be:

    • Identifying network downtime for scheduled maintenance
    • Errors made in decision-making could potentially result in substantial costs to the organization

    Education:

    • Minimum Bachelor's degree majoring in Networking or Networking related technologies required
    • Experience and/or training sufficient to allow successful completion of essential duties and responsibilities may be considered in lieu of an applicable degree

    Experience:

    • Minimum of six years of relevant experience
    • Health Care Experience is preferred, but not required
    • Experience with Juniper switches, Palo Alto firewalls and/or Microsoft Azure Cloud networking technology is strongly preferred

    Licensure, Certificates, and Registrations:

    • A valid Driver’s License is required
    • Reliable transportation to be used for travel is required
    • Ability to travel to/from organization and community sites in a timely manner
    • IT Certifications are not required, but are preferred. These include CompTIA Network+, Palo Alto, Juniper, and Microsoft Certifications

    ** Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**

    • Must be willing to travel to our various sites/locations and to work in clinic/office approximately 25% of the time
    • An advanced understanding of network concepts, design, and implementation
    • Ability to precisely document practices and procedures
    • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and research and apply new technologies
    • Ability to read and understand trade and technical publications and websites, and apply skills acquired
    • Possess sensitivity toward the needs of others
    • Must be a self-motivated, proactive and independent worker
    • Possess excellent organizational skills
    • Sensitivity to low-income and ethnic minority communities is a must
    • Must work well with the patient care team
