    DATA CENTER FACILITIES TECHNICIAN

    This individual's primary responsibility is to complete all tasks as directed by the Data Center Manager with minimum supervision and to report any condition affecting building services and tenant comfort or safety. Specific areas of responsibility include data center services, preventive maintenance, equipment monitoring, and support of IT systems, network services, business-critical process and procedures.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Partner with DC Ops and vendors regarding the design and planning of the data centers.
    • Implement best practices on all designs to ensure use of latest technologies and solutions. 
    • Design, build and implement servers, switches, storage arrays, etc. for the data centers.
    • Configure floor design to balance power on all cabinets OPEX Expectations
    • Assisting in the implementation of cabling requests (cable installations/ labeling, Patches, Moves, Adds and Changes) to meet the daily operational deliverables.
    • Managing Service Requests, Incidents and Tasks that are logged and distributed within the ITSM tool (Heat/Ivanti) on a daily basis.
    • Assess the requirements, acquire pricing from one of our certified pool of vendors, coordinate chargeback according to policy, schedule and execute the cabling request. 
    • Rack and Stack of hardware (network, storage, compute, etc.)
    • Configuration of hardware deployed in the data center. 
    • Balancing of power and cooling of the data center environment. 
    •  Identifying risks to service and escalating to the proper party responsible for remediation, maintaining rack elevations and addressing security concerns.
    •  Deploy Change Management, and MCIT Leadership requirements regarding the scheduling and execution for each deployment wave, as well as engage and coordinate with Suppliers (i.e. Presidio and Sungard) for their resources. 
    • Managing configuration requirements in Nlyte.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma
    • A minimum of 5 years of directly related experience in the operation, installation, and maintenance of data center critical equipment, building systems with in-depth technical understanding and knowledge of all HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and control systems . 
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two+ years' experience in electrical systems, refrigeration and/or HVAC. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.   
    • Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, Chillers, Air handling units, and CRAC units.   
    • Good observation skills and problem-solving ability.
    • Organized work habits and efficient time management
    • Ability to establish rapport with client representatives and other contractors.
    • Travel is required to the nearby cities
