    Job Description

    The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking an Assistant Accountant to perform various accounting functions in support of the Finance office. The Assistant Accountant will be physically based in one location and support one or more other locations remotely. Duties include tasks relating to the rag program, gratuity program, store database, budgets, payroll, and insurances. Other duties include completing credit applications, providing copies of tax exempt forms to vendors, maintaining food stamp records, and following up outstanding accounts receivables. The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for adjusting journals, accounts receivable/payable, office deposits, petty cash, bank reconciliation, data backup, and month end reports. The Assistant Accountant is also responsible for supervision of the Payroll Clerk and/or Accounting Clerk. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree preferred) and 3-4 years experience in finance, be self-motivated and able to work independently. The job requires strong computer skills and knowledge of accounting functions.
