Job Description

This position focuses on environmental sample collection and laboratory support rather than analytical testing. You will play a key role in maintaining compliance and supporting cleanroom operations.

_ Key Responsibilities_

• Collect environmental samples from controlled process areas, high-purity water systems, clean steam, and compressed gases.
• Perform routine environmental monitoring to ensure compliance with cleanroom standards.
• Support laboratory operations by cleaning controlled temperature units, operating autoclaves, and assisting with general upkeep.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance and calibration to ensure readiness and compliance.
• Use the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to track samples and associated data.
• Participate in overtime, weekend, holiday, and on-call schedules as needed.

_ Cleanroom Requirements_

• No cosmetics, nail polish, or jewelry (except medical alert items or one smooth ring band).
• Hair must be secured in a hairnet; facial hair must be trimmed and covered.

Qualifications

_ Minimum Requirements:_

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related field OR Associate’s degree in Life Sciences with relevant experience.
• Ability to meet physical demands: lifting 25 lbs+, standing/walking for extended periods, pushing/pulling carts, bending/reaching.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to learn new techniques.
• Proficiency with computer systems and accurate record-keeping.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction or sponsorship.

_ Preferred:_

• Experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology environments.
• Familiarity with microbial identification and cGMP regulations.
• Environmental monitoring experience and LIMS knowledge.

This is a full-time, onsite position based on a first-shift schedule (Sunday through Wednesday, 7:00am to 5:30pm), with overtime required as needed. Training is Monday through Friday from 7:00am-3:30pm. Candidates located within a commutable distance to Rensselaer, New York, are strongly encouraged to apply.
