This job will provide great experience, leadership opportunities and is perfect for students that need to work around a school schedule. We are ideally seeking candidates that are energetic, talkative, outgoing, patient, polite, well-spoken, responsible, intelligent and have outdoor qualifications. You must have a driver's license and you will need to obtain CPR for the Professional Rescuer & Basic First Aid training through the Red Cross on your own. We prefer candidates that have weekend availability as well as weekdays. Candidates that are outdoor enthusiasts that have previous water/ocean experience and have problem solving skills are also preferred! The job duties are as follows: provide paddle instructions and pre-tour preparation; guide bike, kayak and snorkel tours; provide equipment fittings; offer bicycle seat adjustments and other bike assistance to customers; pass out and clean equipment such as PFDs, wetsuits, snorkel gear, bike helmets; load/unload equimpent on company vehicles; drive company vehicles and unload equipment; guide kayak tours in La Jolla Shores and guide Kayak/Snorkel tours as well as snorkeling only tours. Prerequisites for hire: guide candidates will be required to show a current American Red Cross certifications for both CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid. If offered a position, you can sign up for the class and show proof of registration on your first day if you do not have these certifications yet. You just have to sign up for them by the first day of work! In addition to hiring tour guides, we are also hiring for instore Customer Service positions, beach crew staff for the La Jolla location, and positions in Coronado in which duties include assisting rental customers, guiding tours, passing out bike rentals and helping with customer check in and retail sales.
