JOB SUMMARY: The Payroll Specialist is primarily responsible for overseeing all payroll duties which includes, but is not limited to, reviewing new hire data and timekeeping processes for both Baseball and Non-Baseball employees. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Works closely with Human Resources (HR) Department to ensure all paperwork is processed timely and accurately in ADP WorkforceNow and ABI TMSS timekeeping * Processes the Salary, Hourly, 40-Man Roster, Minor League Player, and Union payrolls under the supervision of the Payroll Supervisor * Coordinates all daily timekeeping processes with various departments and follows up on any missing data prior to importing hours from ABI into ADP * Performs time-edits for employees as needed as back-up for departments * Processes termination workflows and manual checks requested on an as-needed basis from completed personnel action forms * Provides accounting with check & direct deposit reports for all payroll groups * Provides accounting with deduction reports for player withholdings and other reports on an as-needed basis * Responds to Social Security questionnaires and Unemployment audits * Completes union dues report monthly and ensures that the payment is processed * Reviews and distributes annual W-2 statements * Advises Supervisor, Payroll of any state or local tax jurisdiction issues * Updates states and local tax withholdings * Runs various reports from ADP and ABI systems as well as ad-hoc reports for departmental requests * Enters and reconciles all garnishments paid through ADP * Serves as backup for transmission of 401(k) files to Wells Fargo & Vanguard * Assumes other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Payroll JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must meet the following minimum requirements: * Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required * Minimum 3 years previous payroll experience in the multi-state environment.
