  • Responsibilities

    The Bookkeeper/Accountant works directly with the President and is responsible for managing and maintaining the budget, AR/AP, and payroll for the school.  Expertise in Quickbooks, strong accounting skills, positive attitude, attention to detail, cash flow management, and the ability to calmly prioritize tasks are all requirements for the job.  The position is currently part-time, two to three (2-3) days per week with a flexible schedule. For the right candidate, the job could develop into full-time position. Responsibilities: • Advanced Quickbooks, Intuit payroll and Excel skills are a must • Strong working knowledge of GAAP principals and financial statements; Cash vs. Accrual conversion experience • Cash flow management, account payable, accounts receivable and budget preparation • Be responsible for collecting tuition payments • Process Invoices in a timely matter • Prepare all quarterly and year-end government tax forms • Process basic Human Resources hires paperwork (I-9, W-4, Etc.) • Detail-oriented, self-directed and able to effectively complete tasks with minimal supervision • Monitor and carefully account for activities towards the budget, including revenue and expense tracking • Reconcile monthly bank accounts, prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for management • Manage month-end close, accounting processes and procedures related to all aspects of the business and in line with corporate reporting guidelines • Maintain an accurate filing and record-keeping and reporting system for all financial statements and company documents • Track asset/depreciation schedule • Management of general ledger including month and year-end closings, reconciliation including journal entries • Year-End Financial Statement closing Adjusting Journal Entries. W-9, 1099 Misc. and 1098’s • Participate in the implementation of changes to policies, procedures, and systems to facilitate growth, compliance and scaling of the business • Prepare special reports and assist in special projects as assigned by management • Discretion, and the ability to properly handle confidential information Qualifications: The position fills a critical role at the center of the company, ensuring smooth business processes, administration and financial management. Applicants must have at least 5 years experience in full cycle accounting and a bachelors degree in either accounting or finance. Compensation: $25 - $35 hourly
