Social Media Intern San Francisco Living Wage Coalition - San Francisco, CA 94103 Internship Position: Social Media Intern (Unpaid) The Living Wage Coalition is a low-wage worker advocacy organization fighting for economic justice . We are actively campaigning to reverse income inequality and wage disparity. We are advancing local campaigns and projects that can be models for policies to address the fundamental causes of income inequality. The Living Wage Coalition was initiated in 1998 by labor unions, community organizations and religious congregations to develop a movement led and democratically run by low-wage workers. We're immediately hiring passionate and motivated activists for a city-wide campaign to protect workers' right to a living wage by putting pressure on local city officials, and newly-elected Mayor London Breed. SF Living Wage Coalition is offering an unpaid internship, with flexible scheduling in a relaxed work environment. If you're passionate about protecting labor rights, raising wages for low-income workers, strengthening union jobs and have experience managing social media campaigns then this is the right position for you! Responsibilities: * Manage social media accounts including Facebook, YouTube and Twitter * Create and manage an Instagram account * Utilize social media to engage with a community of fans/followers online * Help create a strong digital voice across all social media platforms * Source content for social media, including videos and photos * Increase community engagement through online presence * Develop meaningful content to post/schedule weekly on social media accounts * Contribute online marketing and advertising ideas * Assist staff with day-to-day tasks as appropriate Requirements: * Public Relations, Social Media Marketing, or Communications background * Demonstrate a keen interest in social media, and how media and communication strategies can turn online engagement into civil action * Experience in executing campaigns and utilizing multiple social platforms to build awareness and engage new and existing followers * Strong ability to quickly write thoughtful, campaign oriented posts for social and blog content tailored for our audience * Self-starter comfortable in an unstructured environment * A positive attitude with strong writing skills * Passionate about economic justice * Knowledge of digital marketing techniques (preferred) * Experience with activism, community organizing, and/or event planning (preferred) * Graphic design and video editing skills are a plus Job Type: Internship Experience: * Social Media Marketing: 1 year 2 hours ago - save job Apply Now Please review all application instructions before applying to San Francisco Living Wage Coalition.
