    Job Description

    HR ADMINISTRATOR

    This position will assist in HR support including job-orientations and training coordination for Corps Members and incoming new hires. This position will handle the day-to-day requests from Corps Members and requests for job verifications. This person will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our new hire onboarding documents, performing new hire check-ins and exit interviews and completing HR related projects upon request.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    · Administration of:

    o Background and references checks for new hires.

    o Leaves of absence including PDL, FMLA/CFRA and PFL and ensures timely notification and compliance with policies and laws.

    o Employee garnishments and State Disability Claims.

    o Unemployment insurance claims process and maintains documentation and follow-up with insurance carriers.

    o Workers compensation claims includes reporting claims, managing and closing open claims

    · Assist Hiring Managers on recruitment process and conducts new employee on-boarding process including Corps member new hire orientation, review, verify and process new hire paperwork and coordinate benefit enrollment information.

    · Back-up participation on the safety committee

    · Ensures HR keeps employees informed of all changes in human resources policies.

    · Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan personnel transaction such as hire, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, termination, unemployment and disability claims, and employee statistics government reporting.

    · Maintain

    o Company organization charts and the staff directory updates.

    o Job requirements and job descriptions for positions and assure performance evaluations are completed and filed in a timely basis.

    o Require OSHA recordkeeping.

    o Records and files as required for effective human resources functions.

    o Up-to date log of all recordable injuries cases on Cal/OSHA log.

    · Maintains professional and technical knowledge of human resources by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies

    · Manages organization’s insurance program and coordinates and conducts open enrollment meeting and process all employee benefits paperwork

    · Prepares and processes termination paperwork.

    · Use HR data base to track benefit plans

     

    ADDITIONAL ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES INCLUDE:

    · Benefits reconciliation statement and approving benefits invoices for payment

    · Distribution of incoming faxes and mail

    · Oversee the and coordinates the CCC Annual Re-Certification

    · Responsible for the administrative of the day-today operations of Human Resources.

     

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

    · Ability to communicate difficult information effectively, effectively present information and respond to questions from management and employees, work independently and write reports, business correspondence and policy/procedure manuals.

    · Excellent oral and written communication skills.

    · Familiarity with HRIS applications with demonstrated proficiency in software programs.

    · Good working knowledge of California employment laws and the ability to interpret them.

    · High level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines and interpersonal skills, integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

    · Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and internet research.

    · Working knowledge of all human resource functional areas including legal, employee relations, recruiting, EEO/AA, compensation and benefit administration, training and development.

     

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    · Associate’s degree (AA) with one or more years related experience and/or training.

    · Nonprofit experience a plus but not a necessity

     

    SALARY AND BENEFITS:

    · Salary range from $19.00 to $27.00 hourly (reflects the entire salary range). The salary is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale (salary range)

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to fingers, handle, or feel and talk and hear and distinguish various sounds, such a voices of co-workers in a variety of work environments. The employee is required to stand; occasionally walk on uneven ground; bend, squat and twist; each with hands and arms above and below shoulder level; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; work under such conditions as confined spaces, etc. The employee will infrequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job are close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
