    Job Description

    The Field Data Collector collects viable data in a timely fashion to meet the acquisition and production department objectives. The successful candidate will utilize the latest technology to collect detailed information of geographic features, buildings, and infrastructure elements with the ability to travel extensively anywhere in North America to perform this work as required.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES:

    • Performs basic data collection duties such as identifying feature elements, filling log sheets, photographing features, collecting and recording data sets.
    • Operates hand held data collection equipment including phones, tablets, surface pads, computers and supporting equipment.
    • Travel to various locations by airplane and motor vehicle making travel arrangements personally and using travel navigation skills to perform work.
    • Performing accurate data collection, compiles, ships/uploads data, and disseminates data in a timely fashion.
    • Tracks information as necessary. Prepares and submits logs, reports, credit card receipts, expense reports and other materials as required.
    • Operates vehicles and equipment in compliance with manufacturer and company guidelines and policies.
    • Interface with the public using customer service skills to convey work needs and information.
    • Performs work following quality standards, expectations, and goals.
    • Other duties as required.

    EDUCATION:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Associate’s degree preferred, or GIS certificate in relevant course of study, or the equivalent work experience or current enrollment in relevant college-level coursework.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Microsoft product suite.
    • GIS (Geographic Information Services) experience preferred.

    OTHER:

    • Perform work daily over extended weekly schedules including travel as required.
    • Working independently to perform work without immediate or constant supervision.
    • Working outdoors walking in a variety of environmental and geographic conditions.
    • Technical savvy to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment.
    • Valid Drivers License and the ability to travel anywhere in the United States.
    • Must be 21 years of age.
    • Must be 25 years of age or older if required to operate a motor vehicle in this position.

    SUPERVSIORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

     

    POSITION: Part-time (working up to 1600 hours annually)

    Hourly Range: $15-17 hour
