    Job Description

    PURPOSE The Front Office Assistant provides a variety of clerical support services for the church and its staff. In coordination with and at the direction of the Office Administrator, the assistant helps to organize the activities and functions of the church office, and assists in the coordination of the flow of information between the staff and the congregation. Christian spiritual maturity and compassion are important, but membership or attendance at Sandhills Community Church is not required.

    HOURS Part Time, 30 hrs/week - 8:30am to 3:30pm Mon-Fri, 60-min unpaid break

    PAY $12.00 per hour (no benefits included)

    RESPONSIBLE TO Office Administrator

    NECESSARY SKILLS

    • Excellent and professional customer service whether face-to-face, over the phone, or in writing
    • Excellent attention to detail while keeping in mind the bigger picture
    • Excellent and grammatically correct verbal and written communication
    • Must be able to work efficiently and diligently with minimal supervision, and to prioritize effectively
    • Must be organized, reliable, and punctual
    • Must be gracious and understanding when working with staff and interacting with congregation
    • Discretion is imperative
    • Must be able to receive and follow instruction well

    PRIMARY DUTIES

    • Greet office visitors, answer door entry requests, direct incoming calls, and manage reception area
    • Primary point of contact for questions regarding church functions, events, and activities
    • Coordinate the scheduling and management of private events and borrowed resources
    • Process new visitor information and Connect cards
    • Manage inventory and purchasing of supplies (office, janitorial, coffee service, other)
    • Manage and distribute incoming deliveries, mail, and packages
    • Organize and manage the day-to-day activities and efficient operations of the church office

    ADDITIONAL DUTIES

    • Assist with the organization and maintenance of the facility and all its resources
    • Provide basic clerical and secretarial support for all staff as needed
    • Assist as needed with church communication materials and production of graphics
    • Assist in maintenance of the church database
    • Assist the volunteer network of the church and coordinate administrative volunteers as directed
    • Keep kitchen, janitorial closet, and basic storage areas clean, stocked, and organized
    • Keep workroom clean, stocked, and organized
    • Verify attendance counts for accuracy and submit for weekly executive statistics report
    • Assist in organizing catering orders as needed, to include picking up catered meals when possible
    • Other duties as assigned
