About the Role:

We are open M-F 8AM - 2PM and Saturday 9AM - 2PM (Yes, we all get nights and Sundays off!)...so there is such a thing as a fun, fulfilling restaurant job and still being able to have a life outside of work. Hearthstone BakeryCafe in San Antonio, TX is looking for a enthusiastic and dependable Sandwich Cook to join our kitchen team! If you love crafting delicious, made-to-order food in a warm and welcoming café environment, this is the perfect opportunity for you. Responsibilities:

Prepare and assemble a variety of sandwiches, wraps, and café menu items to order

Follow recipes and presentation standards to ensure consistent food quality

Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked sandwich station throughout the shift

Monitor food freshness and properly label, rotate, and store ingredients (FIFO)

Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment

Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and health code standards

Assist with prep work, prepping ingredients, making recipes, cleaning as you go

Requirements:

Prior experience in a kitchen, deli, or food service environment preferred

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices; Food Handler Certification a plus

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café kitchen environment

Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and presentation

Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs

Flexible availability including weekday & Saturday mornings and afternoons
