This position performs measurements and analytics associated with our LTL carrier transportation rates in order to work strategically with Management on identifying areas of improvement. This is including but not limited to being the team lead providing direction and coaching to other freight rate analysts, creating metrics and reports for management to identify proper accounts and routings, rate base conversions, and interpreting contracts or CSRs for analysis and/or import.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with Management and the Sales force on strategies to determine appropriate transportation carrier selections as well as freight routing schemes
• Generate metrics and criteria for margin improvements on existing accounts either by securing new rates or introducing new carriers to the route guide.
• Assist in creating enhanced rate setups based on matrices, multi-gainshares, pallets, etc.
• Analyze variables and determine appropriate solutions utilizing your learned experiences
• Extract needed data from TMS and other databases
• Perform other duties as assigned.

3)  Able to apply strong functional computer knowledge in utilizing Microsoft Windows, MAC, or other technical tools in completing assignments. May require knowledge of or ability to quickly learn specialized software to complete work assignments. Able to demonstrate continued expertise in the primary tools or applications used in completing daily work assignments.

4)  Requires very good communication skills with ability to state messages in a clear manner by using language that is easy for others to understand.

5)  Must be able to proactively listen to others to understand issues and situations.

6)  Must be able to clearly articulate business needs to both internal and external customers.
