  • Responsibilities


    Develops and maintains infrastructure environment automation capabilities, working within the VMware and Azure platforms. Establishes and maintains scripting best practices for code management, including documentation and source control. Creates automation capabilities that enable or support the scripted deployment and, where possible, maintenance of servers or containers across multiple hosting platforms. Provides technology guidance to peers, supporting engineers and technicians.

    Recognized within the organization as a functional expert with specialized depth and/or breadth of knowledge. Works independently, with guidance only in the most complex situations. Solves complex problems; identifies new solutions using a broad perspective and understanding. Leads large-scale projects with substantial resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. May lead a project team with influence over contribution of others. Translates functional vision into plans and guides their execution.


    • Supports services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, capacity planning and launch reviews.
    • Automates the management and maintenance of enterprise systems, including the execution and verification of patching processes.
    • Works to improve the operation and reliability of enterprise systems through process automation, monitoring and alerting.
    • Assists in the design and implementation of tools and processes to deploy infrastructure through environments and administers system configuration changes throughout the ecosystem.
    • Collaborates with development, infrastructure, and database teams to bring new applications, features and services to production.
    • Assists development teams with continuous delivery, through automated deployment, provisioning and configuration of our enterprise systems and environments.
    • Detects, triages and resolves system and performance issues by application of effective monitoring and alerting solutions.
    • Administers and supports tools related to management of source code, configurations, builds, deployments, and releases.
    • Provides production administration and support for enterprise software systems and platforms, escalating to appropriate resources as necessary.
    • Develops and documents operational procedures for installation, upgrades and customizations.
    • Provides process expertise for system upgrades, application integration initiatives and projects.
    • Exhibits excellent communication skills including the ability to explain complex technical structures in an understandable, user-friendly format.

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a job related major field of study
    • Minimum seven (7) years of relevant professional experience, including specialized knowledge of a discipline utilized to lead an area of our business, or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Three (3) or more years of experience as an infrastructure engineer with automation and scripting responsibilities
    • Three (3) or more years of experience in software (scripting) delivery and support
    • Practiced in the execution of a development life cycle


    • Experience with multiple scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, etc.)

    • Experience with containerization technologies. (Docker, Kubernetes, Windows Containers)

    • Understanding of interface integration methods

    • Experience with infrastructure automation

    • Strong data center technologies knowledge (Operating systems, VMWare, Networking)

    • Strong Windows Server Capability

    • Strong Linux Server Capability

    • Understanding of IP communications

    • Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS) as software configuration management (SCM)/deployment platform

    • Knowledge of supporting and utilizing technologies related to:

    • VMWare

    • Containerization platforms

    • Configuration Management: Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet, Chef, Desired State Configuration (DSC)

    • Scripting Languages: PowerShell, bash, python

    • Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and automation technologies

    • Enterprise Service Bus platforms

    • Infrastructure as Code platforms: Terraform, Packer, Azure Resource Manager/CloudFormation templates
