    _SBP is a preeminent, independent biomedical research institute dedicated to understanding human biology and disease, and advancing scientific discoveries to profoundly impact human health. _

    The RECRUITER performs full-cycle recruiting for scientific and non-scientific positions including leadership roles. The position also develops and ensures effective utilization of talent acquisition tools, processes and programs and enforces standards and required compliance practices. The recruiter also works closely with hiring managers and leaders in navigating recruitment and developing appropriate strategies.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Works directly with hiring managers to develop recruitment plans for filling vacancies for all levels and disciplines of open recruitments
    • Helps hiring managers identify the appropriate role based on job specifications, duties, skills and qualifications
    • Works with compensation to make modifications to job descriptions and identify appropriate range and salary offer guidelines
    • Utilizes traditional and non-traditional recruiting tools and networks to source potential candidates
    • Coordinates selection process by screening applications and conducting phone and in-person interviews and coordinating interviews for others
    • Collects hiring manager and team feedback from interviews
    • Coordinates communication with candidates during the interview and hiring process
    • Extends offers and supports negotiation process
    • Conducts reference checks as needed
    • Develops training materials, resource and communication tools and to educate individuals involved in recruitment at the Institute
    • Conducts training for hiring managers and interviewers relating to effective interviewing techniques, interview questions, and legal guidelines
    • Identifies opportunities, develops relationships and participates in events and outreach in support of the Affirmative Action Plan
    • Documents and evaluates current processes, applicant tracking system capabilities and limitations and makes recommendations for improvements and changes
    • Collaborates with the SBP international office to ensure appropriate completion of necessary visa paperwork for incoming foreign nationals
    • Monitors metrics and trends related to recruitment and hiring using system-generated reports and statistical information; runs and distributes recruiting-related reports as requiredEnsures talent programs comply with applicable state and federal laws and follow all procedures within the Institute talent policies
    • Oversees administration and retention of all documents related to recruitment to ensure compliance with regulations and support audits if required
    • Represents the Institute at career fairs, networking and sourcing events
    • Provides mentoring and identifies learning opportunities for talent acquisition team to develop skills, service capabilities and share best practices
    • Acts as liaison with recruitment vendors, applicant tracking providers, and temporary agencies as required
    • Assists with special events and projects

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained is required
    • Four years’ experience in full cycle recruitment required
    • Technical and scientific recruiting experience preferred

    Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities

    • Thorough knowledge of recruiting components including, but not limited to, employment policies and practices, legal constraints, sourcing, qualifying and interviewing techniques
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret applicant data, develop criteria for candidate selection and make hiring recommendations
    • Work independently as well as in a team environment
    • Ability to handle confidential situations with a high degree of integrity
    • Be responsible, organized, and a problem solver
    • Proven communication skills, both verbal and written and excellent relationship management skills and people acumen
    • Possess strong attention to detail, analytical, time management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
    • Experience in developing metrics and analyzing data
    • Professional proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical savvy with applicant tracking systems, online tools and websites
