    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    The Consumer Lending Specialist I utilizes the appropriate sales techniques to ensure successful loan closing, as well as proactively identifying other cross-sell opportunities for the expansion of the credit union business.

     

     

    NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    Make outbound phone calls to offer and sell Consumer Loan products. 

    • Targets new Indirect Loans that have a 2nd loan with a savings opportunity
    • Utilizes Pre-qualification lists
    • Assists with Credit Card Balance Transfers
    • Targets other Consumer Lending pre-qualification campaigns

    Take applications for new consumer loans from members

    Negotiate as appropriate with underwriters for approval and pricing

    Collect and complete all paperwork necessary to fund loans

    Present final completed auto loan paperwork to Consumer Lending Funding team for check printing and auditing

    Keep client lists in order to build potential future loan opportunities

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Excellent verbal, telephone and internet communications skills
    • Knowledge of auto loan underwriting guidelines
    • Knowledge of regulatory compliance guidelines
    • Knowledge of credit union loan processing
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel
    • Analyze and solve problems
    • Interact with staff, dealers and others encountered in the course of work
    • Learn and apply new information or skills
    • Observe and interpret people and situations
    • Perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks
    • Use written and oral communication skills

    Required Experience

    EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

    Potential candidates for this position must meet the following requirements:

    • AA Degree in related field or professional designation or comparable experience.
    • A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience as a Member Service Rep or equivalent position with consultative sales experience.
