WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The BSA Risk Analyst position of the Security BSA Department will assist in all aspects of Sterling National Bank’s BSA/AML Risk Program and will assist the Financial Crimes Investigations Unit (“FCIU”), responsible for monitoring and identifying suspicious activity as it relates to the Bank’s Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Specialty Lines of Business. The FCIU Department is part of the Security BSA Department which is responsible for reviewing and assessing the regulatory, financial, reputational and security risks to the Bank.
The BSA Risk Analyst assists the Security BSA Department with evaluating existing model and scenarios; conducting model and scenario tuning, optimization and validation, as well as improving BSA/AML surveillance through the development of new risk models, statistical analysis, negative testing and other sensitivity and productivity analyses at the department and FCIU levels. The BSA Risk Analyst will have independent responsibility and demonstrates knowledge across a wide range of tuning, optimization and validation data analysis to address emerging trends and red flags, as well as support the BSA/AML periodic risk assessments through data element and risk related analysis.
The position requires the individual to exercise independent sound judgment and high quality standards in risk and data analysis. In addition, the BSA Risk Analyst is required remain current and proactive with related industry trends and best practices, and exhibits ethical behavior and integrity in their everyday business conduct._ _
