SBP is a preeminent, independent biomedical research institute dedicated to understanding human biology and disease, and advancing scientific discoveries to profoundly impact human health. For over 40 years, our research has produced breakthroughs in cancer, neuroscience, immunology and children’s diseases, and is anchored by our NCI-designated cancer center and advanced drug discovery capabilities.
Viruses are obligate pathogens, and therefore their survival is dependent upon their ability to exploit host cellular machinery. Concurrently, viruses must also successfully evade immune surveillance mechanisms, including first-line (innate) defense systems. The Chanda lab is interested in unraveling the molecular bases for these complex host-pathogen interactions, which will not only provide insight into viral pathogenesis, but key regulators of inflammation and innate immunity in cancer.
A RESEARCH ASSOCIATE position is available in Systems Immunology in laboratory of Dr. Sumit K. Chanda. The Research Associate will assist with the overall project management on a large project and may manage small projects or components of larger projects. This is a temporary position for approximately 3 months and may be extended up to one year or longer.
