The RESEARCH ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR III/SPECIALIST serves as the primary point of contact and coordinates institutional support to faculty, their laboratories and acts as a liaison with other departments. They receive direction from faculty and/or the department’s director providing coordination of sponsored research, publications, organizes events and office/lab support.
Supporting the research laboratory, this individual will coordinate the grant application processes; coordinate daily operations of the lab; assist with manuscript preparation and editorial responsibilities as needed; and perform other related duties and tasks as required or assigned. This position directly supports one faculty member.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Required Skills Required Experience
High School Diploma and six years of experience in grant administration required or equivalent education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained.
Bachelor’s degree and eight years of experience in administrative support of faculty, executives or high-level management required
Experience in grants management may be preferred
Previous experience in an academic or scientific research environment (preferred)
In depth knowledge of research administration guidelines for Federal and non-Federal sponsors
Professional proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator and Photoshop
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities
Ability to coordinate multiple projects with varying degrees of complexity
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Strong problem solving, analytical, organizational and time management skills
Ability to work under pressure, ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion/judgement
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
Ability to learn and achieve proficiency with internal systems
