Job Summary
The Sanitation & Cleaning Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary production environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring food safety, product quality, and compliance with company and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily sanitation and cleaning of production equipment, machinery, floors, walls, and common areas
- Disassemble, clean, and reassemble equipment as required following sanitation procedures
- Use approved cleaning chemicals and tools safely and correctly
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines
- Complete required sanitation logs and documentation accurately
- Remove waste and properly dispose of materials according to procedures
- Identify and report any sanitation, safety, or equipment issues to supervision
- Work closely with production and maintenance teams to ensure readiness for operations
- Maintain compliance with safety policies, including PPE usage and lockout/tagout procedures
Requirements & Qualifications
- Previous sanitation or industrial cleaning experience preferred (food manufacturing a plus)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks (bending, standing, reaching)
- Comfortable working around machinery, chemicals, and varying temperatures
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety
- Reliable attendance and ability to work assigned shifts, including nights, weekends, or overtime if required
